Camping

Welcome to The Dragons Back, the highest pub in the Brecon Beacons National Park, a Country Inn with plenty of accommodation, b&b rooms, bunkhouses and a campsite.

We’ve kept our campsite purposely low key. We don’t have a children’s playground, we don’t have a laundry, we don’t have room for massive tents (over 15 ft) or caravans/camper vans, and we don’t have a shop.

What do we have? Two clean loos, 1 good free shower,( the shower is hot only when  the bunkhouse is occupied), great views, our pub next door (with good food, real ales and a warm welcome), and direct access to the Black Mountains – what more could you want? Only £6 per person per night, this includes anyone over the age of 3.

On Bank Holiday weekends if you wish to stay just 1 night, then the charge is £10 per person.

Well behaved dogs on a lead are allowed at extra £2 per dog per night.

Please note we do not allow open/ground fires on the campsite or BBQ’s, gazebo’s etc. We  only allow campers to stay with us who are eating and drinking in the pub, with the exception of D of E groups. Camping for the general public is now only available on Fri/Sat.

You can only book the campsite by phone, we will need your card details, and you will be charged the full value of the booking, this is non-refundable.

N.B. WE DO NOT PROVIDE BREAKFAST FOR CAMPERS. The nearest place to purchase breakfast is the cafe at Cwmdu.
Our small campsite is in a dark skies area, we keep lighting to a minimum, to reduce light pollution and
ensure you are not disturbed by it. Please use a torch at night. Our campsite is terraced with a sloping grassed bank, sensible footwear is a must, and please use caution when walking about the campsite, especially after dark.
We only want considerate campers, any complaints from other campers will be taken very seriously indeed.
